Advantage Credit Union created the Marilyn Archer Scholarship to honor the memory of a former employee. Marilyn fought a valiant four-year fight against cancer and died at the age of fifty-two.
For over 30 years, the Credit Union has awarded a $1,000 check to a local high school graduate to help towards their college expenses. With a simple 500-word essay, along with transcripts, a list of extracurricular activities, and statement of desire, one senior will get assistance in making their first year at college a little easier.
A selected few from our board will review the submitted applications and choose the winner based on their information submitted. Applicants must be a member or the child of a member. If one is not a member, we will open a free savings account and make the minimum $5.00 opening deposit for them. Any graduating senior in Richland County who is not a member and would like to become eligible to apply, would simply need to visit us at 700 Stumbo Rd. and bring in their valid government issued photo ID.
We are here to support our area students in their journey through life. Once a member, always a member. No matter where college takes you.
Scholarship applications are due Monday, March 31, 2025, at 5 p.m.
